How One Olympic Runner Stays Motivated
Earlier this year, I had a chance to chat with American Olympic silver medalist Meb Keflezighi fresh off his win at April's Boston Marathon, where he was the first US male to win in 31 years. He was in San Diego to help pace the 90-minute group at the Suja Rock 'n' Roll Half Marathon (a slow pace for him but many minutes away from my finishing time!). Before he hit the starting line, I asked him how he motivates himself to power through each marathon, especially when he's feeling discouraged. His answer is one I'll definitely remember the next time I'm feeling like I've hit a wall on the racecourse — or even just in a hard gym class. Check out his quote below, and then pin or print our poster to help motivate yourself during your next big workout.
